Despite the proliferation of “pizza porn” in recent years, do not—under any circumstance—open the door for a Domino’s delivery woman while you’re butt ass naked. Though it might work in the movies, this kind of behavior will only end in pain, sorrow, and humiliation for everyone involved.
Unfortunately, a 28-year-old police officer named William Gonzalez didn’t heed this very, very basic warning, reportedly greeting a 20-year-old Domino’s working while wearing nothing but his birthday suit. According to the Las Cruces Sun-News, the New Mexico-based officer was immediately placed on leave and has not returned to work since the woman reported the incident last month.
“It is truly sad that an employee knowing right from wrong still does wrong against all reason,” Jaime Montoya, the chief of the Las Cruces Police Department, said in a statement. “It’s also sad that an employee will put a fellow employee in a tough position of having to inform a supervisor of misconduct.”
As the Sun-News notes, that “tough position” is likely a reference to a series of incredibly stupid and bro-tastic text messages Gonzalez sent a fellow officer, asking his colleague to convince the woman not to file a formal report against him.
“What’s the word bro?” Gonzalez allegedly wrote. “Damn bro. Is it looking bad?” He also asked the officer to keep the report “10-35,” meaning confidential.
Ultimately, Gonzalez’s bro—officer Juan Roman—did the right thing and informed a lieutenant about the incident.
“I'm proud that [our] employees recognize our rules and policies and have the strength to report these incidents because it is the right thing to do,” Montoya said.
With workers enduring creepy incidents like this, those pizza delivery robots might not be such a bad idea after all.
