Before Donald Trump ever decided to run for president, he made a few enemies in the business and entertainment worlds, too. But following his victory over Hillary Clinton last week, figures like Dave Chappelle and Bernie Sanders have come forward, saying they’re willing to give the president-elect a chance for the sake of the country.
Now, Martha Stewart—who's beef with the Donald started in 2006 over a short-lived spin-off of The Apprentice—says she’s ready to let bygones be bygones, despite calling Trump “totally unprepared” to be president in an interview earlier this year.
Though Martha claimed she was voting for Hillary Clinton in September, the reality of the election results seem to have changed her tone.
"I sent my congratulations to the Trump family, and I think they have an opportunity—let's see how they do with it. I'm excited,” the Potluck Dinner Party co-host told the Chicago Tribune this week. “Guess what? Things change and you can't be moaning when you can't change what happened. Go with the flow!"
Though thousands of protesters have gathered in cities like New York and Chicago—unwilling to admit defeat to a man who ran campaign based on xenophobia and misogyny—Stewart is apparently trying to look on the bright side of things.
“Guess what, we'll have a true entrepreneur in the White House!" she said at an event on Tuesday. "Can you imagine? He has no other experience, but..."
That’s a big “but,” Martha.
