Perhaps for the first time in history, Cleveland, Ohio is the center of the universe when it comes to professional sports. On Tuesday, the city will not only host Game 1 of the World Series at Progressive Field, but also present LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers with their 2016 NBA championship rings at Quicken Loans Arena right next door.
Cleveland’s long, tortuous sports legacy has been well documented over the decades, and Tuesday’s events will surely go down as a turning point in the city’s history. Still, there’s one thing that could make this week even better for Cleveland sports fans: free ice cream.
According to Eater, James was recently asked what could add to the celebration, and the King didn’t miss a beat. “I don't know, having an ice cream truck outside both arenas at the same time as well,” he said. “[That would be the] icing on the cake.”
Just like that, Iowa’s Blue Bunny Ice Cream announced on Twitter that it would bring a huge semi-truck to both Progressive Field and Quicken Loans Arena, handing out free frozen treats to the masses during the games.
