Migos and Fetty Wap Finally Have Their Own Potato Chips

By

Welcome back, Rap Snacks. We've missed you.

The potato chip company that first dubbed itself "The Official Snack of Hip-Hop" back in 1994, has finally returned—this time with some new talent and new flavors.

If you've never heard of Rap Snacks—well, for one thing, you're seriously missing out. The potato chip company started as a marketing tool to promote hip-hop's rising stars, and was sold in corner stores and bodegas across the country for years. Over the decades, the 35-cent bags of chips have featured the likeness of Ol' Dirty Bastard, Warren G, Bell Biv Devoe, and Meek Mill, among others. The company was originally founded by James "Fly" Lindsay over 20 years ago, but was eventually bought by rapper/actor/college basketball flop Lil Romeo in 2007.

In an interview with Noisey in 2014, Lindsay hinted that the company would soon be making a return, and now, after much speculation and wonder, Rap Snacks is officially making a fresh push. The chips will debut again this month with three new flavors: Migos' "Sour Cream with a Dab of Ranch," Fetty Wap's "Honey Jalapeno," and, of course, Romeo's "BBQin with my Honey."

The new signings mark a triumphant return for the company. For years, under the direction of Romeo and Lindsay, Rap Snacks seemed to fall off the face of the earth, producing products like Young Joc's "Honey Dew" cheese curls, well after the rapper had faded from the limelight.

To help the chips join the new world of hip-hop, Rap Snacks will be offering exclusive songs through scanable QR codes on the back of the packaging. The company has also taken to social media for the first time, encouraging dabbing chip lovers to use #RAPSNACKSIGOTCHIPS on Twitter and Instagram to show their love for the new products.

Rap Snacks will be distributed throughout the East Coast, the Midwest, and the South. Let's just hope the company can stay alive long enough to bring us a "Salt and Pepper Panda" chip with Desiigner's face on it.
