Oreo Is Launching Blueberry Pie and Fruity Crisp-Flavored Cookies This Summer

By

Over the course of the last four years, Oreo has released nearly a dozen strange, over-the-top flavors, trying everything from key lime pie, to root beer float, to pumpkin spice, to cotton candy. Now, as other snack companies attempt to encroach on the brand's territory, Nabisco is back at it again with two new, limited-edition flavors this summer.

Beginning in June, the company will introduce "Blueberry Pie" and "Fruity Crisp" Oreos at select retailers in the U.S. According to Refinery 29, the Blueberry Pie cookies will be available exclusively at Target, but the Fruity Pebbles will hit stores like Price Chopper, Wegmans, Winn Dixie, and other regional stores, at the beginning of the month.

While Oreo has been leading the pack when it comes to flavor innovation for years, in recent weeks other snack companies have been dipping into the cookie company's market. Earlier this month, Kellogg's announced it would be selling Orange Crush and A&W Root Beer-flavored Pop-Tarts, and in Japan Kit-Kat has been testing a melon and mascarpone cheese bar.
