When Alex Moran made a trip to a McDonald's in West Yorkshire, England recently, all he wanted was a cheeseburger and nothing else. No ketchup, no mustard, no lettuce—nothing. So, when placing his order at the counter, Moran asked his server for a "plain cheeseburger," thinking the description was enough to get his point across. Instead, the server took the order a little too literally, handing Moran a burger-less bun with only a slab of cheese in the middle.
“I couldn't believe it. The first thing I did was show one of my work friends who immediately started laughing." Moran, who frequently orders plain cheeseburgers at McDonald's, told the Sun. “I didn't take it back because I didn't have enough time left on my lunch."
"I just had to basically eat the McDonald's equivalent of a cheese toastie," he added. "I haven't complained about it as it's not worth it over a burger.”
McDonald's has since apologized for the miscommunication, and encouraged Moran to reach out to the company's customer care team so they can look into the matter. But Moran, for his part, took the incident in stride.
"I was a bit annoyed at first but saw the humor in it," he said.
