In what some may consider the most disappointing fast-food news of 2016, Subway has decided to raise the price of its iconic $5 footlong sub to $6.
The New York Daily News reports that as of Thursday (today), Subway will begin selling the footlong subs for six bones. The below tweet sparked many questions, the most common being what a “classic sub” is.
According to the Subway Twitter, a “classic sub” is any regular Subway sandwich before you add all the good stuff like guac.

The worst part about this decision has been the fact that the catchy five-dollar footlong jingle will forever be a thing in the past. Let’s be honest: “six dollar foot long” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
