While Subway is recovering from the Jared Fogel child-pornography scandal, Quiznos is out there killing it with their latest ad spot. The sandwich chain hysterically critiques Burning Man and festival culture as a whole by dropping the characters from The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials smack in the middle of the Playa to fight off “subtle exposure to corporate influence.”
“I just saw a Google exec fire jousting with P. Diddy,” says one Burner, while another gripes, “Burning Man has become a place for rich people to check off their bucket list.”
What any of this has to do with submarine sandwiches, we don’t really know (or care). All we know is Burning Man is pissed. “We’ll be coordinating with our legal team to see what action we can take,” Burning Man spokesman Jim Graham tells Reno Gazette-Journal.
But suing a chain over an ad campaign is just so… un-Burning Man.
