How to Celebrate Potato Chip Day and Pi Day at the Same Damn Time

By

Back in 1987, President Reagan declared June 25 National Catfish Day, and thus the awful glorious tradition of designating food “holidays” was born. Now there are over 635 days on the books, celebrating everything from gazpacho to strawberry ice cream.

While food holidays are totally arbitrary and useless, they present an opportunity to celebrate food—which we can’t hate on. Take Potato Chip Day, for example, which just so happens to fall on National Pi(e) Day (a.k.a., March 14, or 3/14). How could we pass that one up? It’s like a lunar eclipse of comfort food.

From an apple galette with crunchy Kettle Chip topping to a potato-chip-and-cheese pie, here are 10 recipes that celebrate the convergence of Potato Chip and Pi(e) Day.
