This year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition shines a spotlight on Blackberry Farm, a resort and James Beard Award-winning restaurant in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountain foothills.
Blackberry Farm serves as the setting for the “Made in the U.S.A” swimsuit issue cover; the cover girl standing in front of the bucolic white picket fence is Derek Jeter’s all-American girlfriend, Hannah Davis.
The farm’s restaurant, The Barn at Blackberry Farm, was ranked one of 100 Best Restaurants in the South by Southern Living, and chef Joseph Lenn won a James Beard Award in 2013.
Is anyone surprised that the cover of SI‘s most anticipated annual special issue is set on a farm? Urban farming has officially become a trend; not to mention, a glossy lifestyle magazine focused on everything agriculture made its debut in 2013 (Modern Farmer has since folded, but still). The bucolic American lifestyle—and growing things yourself—is so hot right now.
