Reality TV personality and professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek is bringing a most anticipated (albeit not entirely original) food series to television.
It’s called Snack-Off, and it’s a half-hour competitive cooking show starring amateur cooks who will participate in challenges à la Food Network’s Chopped. The cooks will battle each other in taking “mundane munchies and [elevating] it to a fully-baked art form,” according to the show’s official website. In other words, contestants will be put on the spot to come up with genius snack food-inspired creations.
The show will be hosted by chef, restaurateur, and host of Vice‘s “Fresh Off the Boat,” Eddie Huang. On the judges panel: model and foodie Chrissy Teigen, chef Jason Quinn, and a rotating third judge. Read up on cast bios here.
Teigen (and co.) are getting pretty excited about the show:
Prizes for winners include cash, a golden spork necklace, and having their recipe published in the Snack-Off cookbook.
