If you’re the type of person who’s particularly pessimistic about the fate of print media, you probably view the ASMEs—the annual National Magazine Awards handed out by the American Society of Magazine Editors—the same way you might view a bunch of dinosaurs, patting each other on the back and handing out plaques for “Best Fossil” and such. But we’re not those cynics—we love magazines! And we especially love the enduring power of a great cover to sear to jump off the shelf and sear itself into your mind.

While all of the winners and finalists for the coveted Best Magazine Cover awards are worth checking out, we’re particularly interested in the “Most Delicious” category, focused on food rags. Check out the winning cover from Garden & Gun above, as well as the runners-up from New York and The Rotarian. Do you think they chose correctly?

Oh, and we wouldn’t leave you hanging: We’ve also included the overall winner for Cover of the Year—harder to argue that one.
