What does the Peter Jackson adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s prequel to Lord of the Rings have to do with Denny’s?
In a marketing synergy straight out of a sketch-comedy exercise, the chain restaurant will be featuring a Hobbit-inspired menu starting from November 6 to early January. The menu will include 11 items spreading over breakfast, lunch, and dinner, promoting the film slated for a December 14 release.
Fans of Tolkien’s classics and Denny’s (in that order) can look forward to “Bilbo’s Berry Smoothie,” “Radagast’s Red Velvet Pancake Puppies,” and “Gandalf’s Gobble Melt.” After the themed meal, each diner will receive a trading card pack that includes collectible cards and Denny’s coupons. There are 12 collectible cards available.
This gives much more meaning to the film title, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, than, well, we expected.
