It’s celebration time in England as we close in on Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday. For the momentous occasion, the Queen has decided to give a gift to her constituents, extending pub hours two hours later than normal on the weekend of her birthday celebration.

According to the Guardian, the Queen will allow pubs to stay open until 1am on June 10th and 11th, during a country-wide celebration of the monarch’s big birthday.

Prime Minister David Cameron announced the extended boozing hours, which, if we know the British, will be taken full advantage of.

Our only question: Why do they celebrate the Queen’s “official birthday” on the 10th and 11th of June when Queen Elizabeth’s actual birthday is April 21st? (Answer: Who cares—don’t question tradition.)
