If things keep going the way they are, we may soon live in a world where Donald Trump is the president of the United States, and milkshakes simply served in a glass will not be enough. It appears as if the world is in an arms race to develop the most insane, over-the-top milkshakes of all time. The latest country to follow this trend of milkshake moreish-ness England.
BuzzFeed reports that Molly Bakes, a café in London, is now serving its own version of Instagram-friendly “freakshakes.”
Since launching a couple of months ago, they have become incredibly popular. The café says it goes through about 120 milkshakes per day, and that there are often two hour lines outside of the shop. Molly Bakes offers a number of versions of the super-charged shakes, including ones topped with cookies, brownies, marshmallows, and, of course, tons of sauces drizzled down the side of each glass (does this not make washing dishes a nightmare?). The baked goods are all made in-house, too.
Still, Molly Bakes’ take on the Instagrammable milkshake is quite tame compared to the versions served at New York City’s Black Tap, which dares to top milkshakes with whole ice-cream sandwiches, entire slices of birthday cake, and enough candy and marshmallow fluff to fuel a popular child’s 11th birthday party.
