New year, new booze: According to SF Gate, Bay-area legend E-40’s malt liquor is finally available in stores. He announced his 40-ounce beer—simply called E40 Beer—last August. It’s made with a hint of honey and was supposed to hit shelves in December. The drink, which is also available in a 24-ounce size, pays tribute to the block he grew up on. It appears as if E40 Beer is available nationwide, but First We Feast has reached out to the distributor for more information.
This is E-40’s third foray into the booze world. He’s starting to grow a bit of an empire thanks to his super-successful wine line, Earl Stevens Selections, which has a red blend and two types of moscato. Last year, E-40 also launched Sluricane, his extra-potent bottled version of the famed New Orleans’ cocktail, the Hurricane.
If sales of his wine line is a harbinger of things to come for his malt liquor brand, E-40 might want to ramp up production. He signed a deal with major stores like Costco and went from selling just a few cases of wine at a time to pallets.
