What's the Best Fast-Food Vanilla Milkshake?

By

Thanks, Serious Eats, for doing the brain freeze-inducing milkshake dirty work for us.

The website ranked the following nine fast-food vanilla milkshakes: Hardee’s, Burger King, Arby’s, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen, Wendy’s, Steak ‘n Shake, Chick-fil-A, and Sonic. So, who came out on top?

#3: Steak ‘n Shake
#2: Sonic
#1: Head here to find out the #1 ranted shake

Serious Eats writes, “[The Sonic milkshake] is real ice cream, hand mixed, with whipped topping and a cherry.”

And what about the Steak ‘n Shake variety? “This was honest-to-God, hand-packed ice cream scooped out to order and combined with real milk. And it tasted every bit of it.” Boy, do we love a thick, cold Steak ‘n Shake milkshake on a hot summer day.
