Heinz Is Launching Sriracha Ketchup

By

If you’re a fan of ketchup and sriracha, and you’ve always wished someone would put them together in a single squeeze bottle, you’re in luck. H.J. Heinz Company just announced that it’s releasing Heinz Tomato Ketchup Blended with Sriracha Flavor later this month, according to CNN Money.

The new ketchup and sriracha blend will come in “the familiar upside-down 14-ounce plastic squeeze bottle featuring a green and red label,” and will be available for a suggested retail price of $2.69.

If you own a restaurant, or if you decide you really love the stuff and would like to put it on everything, you can also get a 10-pound foodservice-sized pouch of it from Heinz Foodservice.

Heinz Tomato Ketchup brand manager Joseph Giallanella said in a statement,

“We are thrilled to announce that Heinz Tomato Ketchup Blended with Sriracha Flavor will join the beloved Heinz Ketchup portfolio. Building off of our successful line of flavored ketchups, fans told us that they would love another bold take on their favorite condiment. The new offering adds a new kick to your favorite foods and recipes, pairing well with cheeseburgers, French fries and hot dogs, and is the perfect flavor boost for chicken and eggs.”

No matter if you think that sriracha ketchup is just a condiment for people who can’t handle straight sriracha—and, like any self-respecting condiment fan, you’ve already combined these two things—it’s pretty obvious that everyone wants in on a piece of this particular hot sauce action. We can only hope Sriracha Heinz is significantly different from Jalapeño Heinz.

How far away are we from Peak Sriracha? We’re not sure, but we don’t think we’ll want to come down once we get there.
